One word sums up my feelings today: grateful. Grateful to so many volunteers who gave of themselves over these last two months. Grateful to the people of Burlington for giving me their strong consideration to serve as their next Mayor. Grateful to Llu Mulvaney-Stanak for nearly pulling off a miracle. And grateful to Paula for her amazing support, as always.
Election days are about ends and beginnings. Yesterday marked an end to my campaign for Mayor. I look back with pride on two months of positive campaigning during which I learned an enormous amount about Burlington and Burlingtonians. Yesterday marked the beginning of Miro Weinberger’s general election campaign. As I said to him privately, and again today at City Hall, I stand ready to assist him moving forward.
Today marks a return for me to a focus on my work in the Vermont Senate. I am honored to serve Burlington and Chittenden County in Montpelier. I know I will do a better job as Senator having had this experience. Please stay in touch via my website or through my social media pages now located on facebook as, “Tim Ashe” and on twitter @TimAsheVT.
Thank you, Burlington, for even considering me to lead you as Mayor.
Sincerely,
Tim Ashe
Democratic State Senator for Chittenden County
