Why vote for Tim Ashe? He is not connected to corporate development, where despite all good intentions, money is always the bottom line. While it is true that Burlington needs to generate revenue, and must, like all cities, inevitably be further developed, it is also true that individuals living at the margins, barely getting by, need development the most: that is, the development of projects that will enable them and their children to emerge from poverty and lead rewarding lives. This is much more important than upscale hotels, new cutting edge condos or a spiffier waterfront. I'm convinced Tim Ashe will do his best to try and achieve this goal. He is not afraid to make unpopular statements nor to candidly speak his mind - there is no doublespeak. He is my candidate of choice - make him yours.
